The Community Animator

The Community Animator is a paid, part-time role grounded in Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) principles and Systemic Design. The initiative focuses on building community connections and nurturing a sense of belonging and safety among residents living in apartment buildings.

This initiative was co-created with people with disabilities, allies, housing providers, disability service organizations, and funders. It emerged from the Future of Home: Inclusive Housing Solutions Lab, a two-year social innovation lab exploring accessible, affordable, and inclusive housing and support options.
